Adjustable Height Bar Stools

An adjustable stool gives you a range of seat heights to work with. Choose one by comparing that documented range with your bench, along with the base size and footrest position. The adjustment needs to suit the place you will actually use it.

About Adjustable Height Bar Stools

Compare the minimum and maximum

Ranges differ between models. The black Cherry stool lists a 64–85cm seat-height range; the black Arne set of four lists 66–79cm. If you need a particular position, confirm it falls within the selected model’s range rather than assuming all gas-lift stools adjust equally.

Include the base in your measurements

Look at the floor area around each stool and the route behind occupied seats. Cherry lists a 45cm base diameter, while Arne lists a 41cm base. These figures help you plan the floor layout alongside seat width and depth; a narrower seat does not necessarily mean a smaller base.

Decide whether you also want rotation

Height adjustment changes the sitting level. Swivel changes the direction of the seat. Read both features separately or compare swivel bar stools. If one measured height is all you need, fixed-height stools offer another route.

Use the mechanism as instructed

Read the assembly and adjustment instructions supplied with the model. Follow its stated operating method and limits rather than transferring instructions from a different gas-lift stool.

Questions about adjustable height bar stools

Will one adjustable stool fit both my counter and bar table?

Compare each surface separately with the full seat-height range, footrest and base. The available adjustment may suit both, one or neither of your intended positions.

Is the overall height range the seat-height range?

Not necessarily. Overall height can be measured to the backrest. Use a specification explicitly identified as seat height when assessing the sitting position.
